Booking clinics with Craig- contact Mary Anne

First, a little about how the clinics work.

Riders and auditors come to a pre-clinic lecture on the evening before the clinic. The lecture covers the history behind the riding that is done today, and goes over the theory behind the way Craig will be teaching. It is mandatory that anyone who will ride in or observe the clinic attends this lecture. Without this context the clinic will not make sense to most observers.

All levels of riders are invited, you don't have to be a high level rider or familiar with dressage. Western riders are also welcome. Dressage really IS the foundation for all the disciplines, and ridden the way we do, your horses will improve in any discipline.

The riding begins the day after the theory lecture. Working with Craig, it's the quality of each moment with the horse, not just the movement produced, that is most of interest. As the rider develops the understanding and ability to communicate more clearly, the movements improve-- but rather than learning tricks to mask mistakes, riders learn what they are doing that is producing the mistake and how to ride with such clarity that the movements become fluid, light, and precise. First clinics in new areas tend to go slowly as riders of every level develop a level of communication they've never had with their horses.

Typically the lessons run 45-50 minutes with a grace period in between to swap riders and/or take questions from the audience. There is generally a ten minute break in the morning, a lunch break, and a ten minute afternoon break as well.

Rates:

Craig charges a flat rate for the lecture and for each 8 hour riding day of the clinic, plus expenses, including travel. Additional lessons can be contracted for at Craig's discretion.

Pricing for Participants:

The price for the participants in the clinic is set by the organizer. As each area and the costs involved to put the clinics on are so different, clinic prices will vary from location to location.

Availability:

Our current schedule for this year is available on line. Craig's time is booked typically 4 to 12 months ahead for clinics. The clinic date may be set well in advance, but it is not reserved for you until a deposit is paid or a ticket is purchased using Craig's account with American Airlines.
